Villa Cortona Retirement Village

Welcome to Villa Cortona. The noble Etruscan city of Cortona in Italy has been recreated and transformed into a charismatic retirement village, sloped on the majestic hills of Durbanville and overlooking the historic Groot Phesantekraal Estate in the distance.

This Retirement Village is administered according to the Housing Development Schemes for Retired Person Act (Act 65 of 1988) which stipulates that the residents in a unit needs to be 50 years or older. A compulsory medical assessment will be required for any new residents, whether they are occupying their own or a rental unit

Unit pricing

At times, a unit in Villa Cortona may become available as a Resale or a Rental option. Please note that all units with POA prices is for information purposes only. Actual unit layout, availability and pricing is subject to confirmation from our office.

House prices (when available) could range from R1 995 000 to R2 750 000 for a Single Garage unit, from R3 250 000 to R4 250 000 for the Double Garage units up to R4 500 000 for the majestic G units. Apartments (when available) is expected to range from R1 375 000 to R1 800 000 and Assisted Living Suites (when available) from R995 000 to R1 250 000.

Rental units (when available) should range from R8 500pm to R9 750pm for a Single Garage unit, from R10 500pm to R14 000pm for the Double Garage units up to R17 000pm for the majestic G units. Apartments (when available) should range between R7 500pm – R9 000pm per month and Assisted Living Suites (when available) R6 000pm – R7 500pm (excluding the compulsory care package which will be establish on relevant individual’s needs from R6 711).

General Information

Villa Cortona consists of Upmarket Single Title Houses, Sectional Title Apartments & Assisted Living Suites with balconies, secluded garden atriums & luxury verandas. The complex has a secure boundary being located within the bigger Graanendal Estate with attended access, electrified fencing, 24h manned security & camera control. All gardens are landscaped & fitted with automated irrigation.

It offers you a choice of five different layouts for the houses. They range from 2 Bedroom with 1 Bathroom and Single Garage, to 2 Bedrooms, Study, Open Plan Dining Room & Lounge, together with a Double Garage. All patios are under the main roof and the vast majority have been enclosed over the years to increase the living space. One- and two-bedroom apartments can become available and they have communal laundry facilities. Villa Cortona keeps all its residents in mind, so to ensure ease of movement the main building is equipped with elevators, ramps and stairs and also house an interior garden. Some of the apartments have parking bays in the undercover parking garage allocated to them, and with some there is even a store room available as well.
